Teachers Dream helps South African teachers bring learning to life

Everyone remembers that one special teacher and the huge impact they had on their education and self-esteem. Even though experiential learning is such a vital part of outcomes-based education, South African teachers are given limited resources to inspire learners with outings or special activities in the classroom.

Teachers Dream connects donors with inspirational teachers to help make learning dreams come true. Dreams don't cost much - between R100 and R5000 - but they can make all the difference to a child's education.

This is how it works:

• We get Dream Proposals from teachers
• Proposals are screened and posted on this website.
• You search for Dreams to fund.
• Once a Dream is fully funded the teacher can carry out the Dream
• The teacher sends us a report, photos and personal thank-you letters from learners.
• We post all this online for you to view. We can also send you the actual thank you letters.

What's in a Dream?

• Dreams provide an educational experience for an identified group of learners
• Dreams must be linked to specific Learning Outcomes.
• Dreams can't promote discrimination or a particular religious or political viewpoint. And they must be appropriate for the school.
• Dreams cost between R100 and R5,000.
